MS Finance Fellowship - Innovations and Impact
Rohrer MS Finance Fellowship for Innovations and Impact
The Fellowship for Innovations and Impact supports the pursuit of a Masters of Science in Finance (MSF) by professionals driven to become finance executives and change agents that will innovate by focusing on positively impacting everything from sales and marketing to product development and customer satisfaction, and more broadly for society as a whole in areas such as economic and social equity, corporate social responsibility, the circular economy, infrastructure and transportation, clean energy, and/or environmental challenges. MSF Innovations and Impact Fellows are individuals committed to enhancing both firm and industry performance through the development and implementation of practices to optimize positive and minimize negative impacts that industry operations have on society, economic systems, and the environment. Guiding principles might include the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to “promote prosperity while protecting the planet,” or the Pillars of the Triple Bottom Line of "social, environmental and financial" to evaluate performance in a broader perspective to create greater business value. No matter the industry, sector, product, service, or customer, "sustainable business" means developing strategies that use business to transform our world for the better; promoting prosperity and in equal measure good health and environmental benefit. In this spirit, MSF Fellows are committed to socially responsible practices, achievable goals, and community enhancement - seeking to create a positive impact in the world.
MS Finance students join the program with varied undergraduate degrees such as business, biomedical engineering, engineering, health sciences, computer science, and math.
Current professional or targeted career paths might include: Finance Transformation and Finance Strategy and Transformation roles, Socially Responsible Financial Planner, Portfolio Manager for Socially Responsible Mutual Funds, Finance professionals in companies with an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) focus, Financial Analyst in the Energy sector with a focus on socially responsible companies or solutions, or corporate roles related to FinTech for social good (use of emerging solutions to improve quality of life for developing nations and enabling greater access to basic human amenities such as banking, financial services, and mobile phones), or Corporate Sustainability Strategist.
