Academic Advising / More Contact
Will I be assigned an academic advisor once accepted into the program?
Yes, an academic advisor will be available to meet with you but it is your responsibility to contact the Graduate Business Studies office via email at GraduateBusinessStudies@rowan.edu to make an appointment.
I am interested in more details about the programs. Who can I contact?
You can ask questions or set up an appointment to sit down with a Program Coordinator by contacting GraduateBusinessStudies@rowan.edu. Include your program of interest and some background information in your initial email. We look forward to hearing from you!
How can I connect with an Academic Advisor for Graduate Business Studies?
- For academic advising assistance as a Graduate Student in the College of Business, please contact the Office of Graduate Business Programs at GraduateBusinessStudies@rowan.edu or call (856)256-4024 to set up an appointment.
- We can address academic advising questions via email as that is sometimes the preferred route for students. In this case, you are encouraged to send your questions via email as a starting point, and if email isn’t the best way to address your question, we are happy to set up a meeting.
- To schedule a meeting, please send an email with a brief note on the meeting topic, your full name and student ID, and a few windows of time in the next week or so that work for you. You should also note if you prefer an in person in 305E Business Hall or on the phone.
Where do I send my transcripts for foundation courses once I start the graduate/certificate program?
Transcripts are preferred to be sent electronically to Electronic-Transcripts@rowan.edu. If transcripts must be sent through postal mail, they can be sent directly to this address:

Admission Requirements
Is the GMAT required if I already have a graduate degree?
Yes, the GMAT is required for admission into the MBA program, HOWEVER the GRE can be used as a replacement. If you have taken the GMAT more than five years ago, you will need to retake the exam. Rowan University's code for GMAT, GRE and TOEFL is 2515.

Is there a GMAT Waiver Policy?
Yes. Waivers for the standardized test requirement (GMAT or GRE) are available for MBA applicants by meeting one of the following pre-defined criteria:
- Completed the RCB Business COGS with a cumulative GPA of 3.5
- Graduated from an AACSB accredited undergraduate business program with:
- Cumulative GPA of 3.3; OR,
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 with 7 years of professional experience*; OR,
- 10 years of professional experience
- The applicant holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
- The applicant has been inducted as a member of Beta Gamma Sigma
- The applicant has an earned masters or higher, with a 3.0 GPA, from a program which holds discipline-specific accreditation (e.g., ABET for Engineering/Technology, NCATE for Education)
- Completed the MCAT or LSAT and been accepted to an institution holding discipline-specific accreditation (e.g., ABET for Engineering/Technology, NCATE for Education)

What requirements must be met by international students in order to apply for the MBA?
What are the requirements for the MBA Program?
All requirements for Rowan Global Learning & Partnerships, plus:
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in the United States or its equivalent from a foreign institution of higher education.
- If professional (relevant management or supervisory) experience is being used as a basis for support of the applicant's qualification, a letter must be written by the applicant's supervisor or by a responsible executive of the company describing the applicant's current position, responsibilities and length of service. (Professional experience may not be substituted for foundation course requirements.)
- The applicant shall provide the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) score or GRE taken within the last five years. Rowan University's code for GMAT, GRE and TOEFL is 2515.
- The applicant shall provide a written statement of career objectives.

Can courses I take in the Rohrer MBA Program help fulfill the New Jersey CPA educational requirements?
Yes, however, requirements must be evaluated on a case by case basis. For more information concerning the NJCPA educational requirements please visit their website.

When do I have to apply by? What are the deadlines?

Can I declare a concentration at the time of applying to the Rohrer College of Business MBA Program?
Yes, applicants to the Rohrer College of Business MBA Program will be able to indicate their choice of concentration on the admissions application in both the on-line and paper application formats.
Are any foundation courses required?
Yes, all graduate business programs require foundation courses. However requirements vary by program. Refer back to each program home page for specific foundation course requirements.
- All Foundation Courses are offered at Rowan through our undergraduate programs. You will find these courses as you search the Section Tally or the Undergraduate Catalog for details on offerings.
- Note that as a matriculated graduate business student, you will be charged the Graduate vs. Undergraduate rate for all Foundation courses.
- Keep in mind many of the Foundation courses serve as Pre-Reqs to the MBA courses, so it is in your best interest to complete Foundation requirements early in your studies to allow you to keep progressing through the graduate program curriculum.
- However, there are graduate business courses that do not have Foundation Pre-Reqs, so it's possible for you to take one or more courses in the first semester even before you complete Foundation courses.
- You can transfer in foundation courses from other colleges and universities.

How do I know if the courses I am planning to take at another institution are equivalent to my required foundation courses?
If you are planning on taking a foundation course at another institution located in New Jersey, utilitze the Rowan Transfer Equivalency Database to view the course equivalencies between the institution and Rowan University. If the course in question isn’t listed in the Rowan Transfer Equivalence database, the Graduate Business Studies office will require further documentation (such as a syllabus or course description) to consider if the course you plan to take is equivalent to your required foundation course.
Course Information
Where can I view a course's description and prerequisites?
- Our catalog of course descriptions and prerequisites can be found online by clicking here.
- The Global Learning & Partnerships (Rowan Global) Catalog includes program requirements and course descriptions for undergraduate and graduate programs. You can browse through the various courses to view course descriptions.
Can I begin taking MBA classes during my senior year?
Yes! With our Senior Privilege program, Seniors at Rowan University who have at least a 3.0 GPA may request permission from the Rowan Global Learning & Partnerships to register for one graduate-level course per semester. The total number of graduate credits taken shall not exceed 6 semester hours.
Seniors do not have to pay the Graduate level tuition rate.
You may take the GMAT during your senior year while enrolled in a graduate level course. Seniors may also be interested in our 4+1 MBA Program. This allows students who take advantage of the Senior Privilege to complete their MBA in one year.
What are the start and end dates for each semester?

General Program Information
Can I transfer credits into the Rohrer MBA Program?
- A maximum of nine semester hours in graduate credit from another AACSB accredited U.S. college or university may be applied toward the required program credits, provided the grade for each course is at least a B (3.0). However, these courses must be approved by the student's program advisor, the department chair, the appropriate college dean, and the dean of Rowan Global Learning & Partnerships. If the student requests that the transfer course be used as a program requirement, the department offering the Rowan University course for which the transfer course would be substituted and the program advisor will review the course description and will recommend action to the department chair, the appropriate college dean, and the Rowan Global Learning & Partnerships dean for final approval.
- In addition to submitting a completed Graduate & Post-Bac Transfer Credit Evaluation Form (TCEF) form, you must submit a link to the home school site with the course description.
- Although you cannot transfer courses into Rowan to satisfy MBA core courses, if you feel that you have taken a course that is very similar to a required core course, you can submit a syllabus and request to your academic advisor which may allow you to replace the core course you are attempting to satisfy with a more challenging course. This option is not required, but it will allow you to learn new and more challenging content as opposed to learning content you feel you already mastered.
How long does it take to complete the program?
The program can be completed in a year (four semesters) full time, but most students take between two and six years. The program must be completed within six years.
- The time to completion for the MBA program is flexible and varies depending on student preference (and Foundation courses completed prior to starting the MBA). Many students are working full-time jobs and pursuing coursework part time, which typically results in a two to three year time period for MBA degree completion.
- The maximum time to completion allowed is seven years; after that point you will need to work with the Office of Graduate Business Studies to determine which courses will still satisfy degree requirements and which courses will need to be replaced.
Is the MBA Program accredited?
The Rohrer College of Business of Rowan University is accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Rowan University is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
What are the class sizes?
The online, hybrid and face-to-face graduate business courses offer small class sizes with an average student/faculty ratio of 25 to 1.
Will the program interfere with my job?
The Rohrer MBA program is designed for the working professional and should not interfere with your job. The classes meet one evening per week, online, or through hybrid courses.

I took the GRE, can I use that score instead of taking the GMATS?
Yes, you can use the GRE score to enter the MBA program. For more information concerning the GRE click here.
How do I declare, change, or eliminate a concentration?
- Email the MBA Program at GraduateBusinessStudies@rowan.edu and specify exactly which concentration you prefer to pursue. For details, see concentrations.

What financial aid and scholarship resources are available for graduate students and veteran students?
Federal Financial Aid
- While a student does not need to be admitted to apply for federal aid, a student must be admitted and matriculated into a program in order to receive federal aid should they qualify.
- To be eligible for federal financial aid, you must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen and have a valid Social Security number.
- To apply for federal financial aid, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (Rowan's FAFSA code is 002609). For a graduate-level student, 4.5 credits / semester hours / s.h. hours per term is the minimum. Only degree granting programs are eligible for financial aid (e.g., the MBA and MS programs are eligible; the Certificates are not).

Scholarships
- Rowan University offers a database of scholarships to which you can apply. You will be asked to create an account by entering your email address, to which a password creation link will be sent. No scholarship is guaranteed as there are scholarships for a variety of student types, but students are encouraged to apply.
Veteran Tuition Benefits
- To qualify for veterans' benefits, you must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program. If you are entering Rowan University for the first time and believe you are eligible for veterans' educational assistance, schedule an appointment with the Office of Military Services. The office has both day and evening hours to ensure access to all veteran students seeking information and assistance. Appointments can be made by calling (856)256-4233 or emailing veteranaffairsoffice@rowan.edu.
Graduate Assistantships
- There are always multiple Graduate Assistant position openings each academic year. Students enrolled at Rowan can apply for positions across the university provided they have the skills needed for the position, and it is possible to apply to multiple positions simultaneously. However, it is a competitive application process, so there are no guarantees on placement into a position.
What are the tuition and fees for graduate programs?
- All MBA, MS Finance, COGS, and CAGS courses are 3 credits / semester hours / s.h. hours each.
- You can find tuition and fee details on the Bursar’s site. For Fall 2019 and Spring 2020, the total graduate-level business program tuition and fee cost per credit / semester hour / s.h. is $877.05 ($715.50 tuition and $161.55 fees); this is a cost of $2,631.15 per graduate-level course.
- Note that you might see the individual tuition/fee breakdown costs vary (e.g., sometimes tuition plus fee are combined and sometimes listed separately) based on delivery format (e.g., online is sometimes listed differently than main campus), but the total tuition plus fee cost per course is the same.

How can I find my tuition bill?
