Combine Business Education With Another Rowan Graduate or Professional Credential
Rowan’s established Accelerated Pathways coordinate graduate business education with another Rowan graduate degree, professional degree, or approved graduate credential.
Eligible students may apply approved coursework across the two programs, reducing duplication while completing the academic requirements for each credential. Every pathway has its own eligibility standards, shared-course rules, application steps, and academic plan.

Plan before selecting shared coursework:
Meet with the appropriate advisors or program contacts before registering for courses that you expect to apply across both programs. The number and type of courses that may be shared depend on the pathway and your academic plan.
Graduate Business Degree Pairings
Build complementary expertise across two graduate business degrees through coordinated curriculum planning.MBA/MS Finance Accelerated Pathway
Combine broad business preparation with advanced expertise in financial analysis, corporate finance, investments, and financial decision-making. Students may begin with the MBA, the MS Finance, or coordinate both degrees as part of one academic plan.
MBA/MS Organizational Leadership Accelerated Pathway
Pair broad business preparation with focused study of leadership, organizational culture, teams, ethics, and organizational change. Students may begin with either program and coordinate their MBA Concentration and elective choices to support the pathway.
Health and Professional Pathways
Develop business and leadership capability alongside advanced preparation in medicine, veterinary medicine, or nursing.MBA/DO Accelerated Pathway
Add business, management, and organizational leadership preparation to osteopathic medical education. The pathway can support professional goals involving clinical leadership, healthcare administration, practice management, entrepreneurship, and organizational decision-making.
MD/MBA Accelerated Pathway
Combine medical education with business preparation in strategy, finance, operations, analytics, and organizational leadership. The pathway is designed for future physicians interested in leading within healthcare organizations, managing complex systems, developing new ventures, or influencing healthcare delivery.
MBA/DVM Accelerated Pathway
Pair veterinary medicine with business preparation for practice ownership, operations, leadership, industry, entrepreneurship, and One Health-related work. The pathway helps veterinary professionals develop business knowledge that can support clinical practice and broader leadership opportunities.
MBA/MSN Accelerated Pathway
Combine graduate nursing education with business preparation in healthcare leadership, operations, finance, strategy, and organizational decision-making. The pathway can help nurses prepare for expanded leadership responsibilities across clinical, administrative, organizational, and entrepreneurial settings.
Engineering and Technical Pathways
Combine business leadership and strategic decision-making with advanced engineering or technical preparation.MBA/MS Engineering Accelerated Pathway
Pair graduate engineering study with business preparation in leadership, strategy, finance, operations, innovation, and commercialization.
MBA/COGS Combat Systems Engineering Accelerated Pathway
Combine the MBA with the Certificate of Graduate Study in Combat Systems Engineering to build business leadership and technical preparation for complex systems, defense, and related industries.
How an Accelerated Pathway Works
Each Accelerated Pathway is an established collaboration between the Rohrer College of Business and another Rowan program. The participating programs agree on the coursework, academic standards, and planning expectations that apply to the pathway.
Although the details vary, students generally:
- Review the specific pathway: Confirm the requirements, application process, and recommended planning sequence for the two programs involved.
- Confirm eligibility in both programs: Meet the academic and admission standardsestablishedfor the pathway.
- Develop an approved course plan: Work with theappropriate RCBand partner-program representatives before selecting shared coursework.
- Complete approved shared coursework: Apply qualifying coursework across the two credentials only aspermittedunder the pathway’s established rules.
- Complete all remaining requirements: Satisfy every remaining academic requirement for each credential.
The number of credits that may apply across the programs is not the same for every pathway. Students should not select courses based only on a general pathway description or assume that any course from one program will automatically satisfy a requirement in the other.
Plan the Right MBA Structure
Depending on the pathway and approved academic plan, students may coordinate the partner program with Rowan’s 36-credit MBA or STEM MBA.36-Credit MBA
The 36-credit MBA provides broad business preparation with substantial flexibility for Concentrations and electives. Its customizable structure can help students coordinate approved partner-program coursework with MBA requirements.
STEM MBA
The STEM MBA is also a viable option for graduate and professional Accelerated Pathway students. It requires more precise planning because students must complete a STEM-designated Concentration and satisfy the STEM MBA’s STEM-course distribution. Only eligible STEM-designated coursework from the partner program may be used to satisfy STEM-designated space in the STEM MBA. A non-STEM course cannot be placed into a STEM-designated requirement simply because it may otherwise qualify for transfer or shared use. Students considering the STEM MBA should develop an academic plan with representatives from both programs before selecting shared coursework.

Because application processes vary, there is no single application that applies to every Accelerated Pathway.
Current RCB Students
Current MBA, STEM MBA, MS Finance, MSOL, COGS, and other RCB students should use the Graduate Business Student Handbook to identify their assigned Academic Advisor or Rowan Online Success Coach before applying to a second program or registering for coursework they expect to apply across both credentials.

Some Accelerated Pathways allow Rowan alumni to add a complementary graduate credential and request a review of coursework completed as part of a previously awarded Rowan graduate degree. Eligibility depends on the specific pathway, current curriculum requirements, grades, course recency, and Rowan’s graduate transfer and shared-credit policies. Review the detailed pathway page before assuming that completed courses will reduce the remaining degree requirements.
