External transfer credit is reviewed individually and is not guaranteed. 

At a minimum, coursework submitted for consideration must: 

• have been completed as graduate-level business coursework through an AACSB-accredited graduate business program; 
• have been completed with a grade of B or better; 
• have been completed within the past 10 years; and 
• meet the academic requirements of the RCB Graduate Business program in which the credit would be applied. 

For MBA students, approved external transfer credit may apply only as MBA elective credit. External transfer credit cannot satisfy MBA Core or Concentration requirements. 

For MS in Organizational Leadership students, up to 3 credits may be considered when the prior coursework is reasonably equivalent to and academically appropriate for an MSOL requirement. 

For STEM MBA students, external coursework proposed to count toward the degree’s STEM-designated credit total must also have been designated as STEM by the AACSB-accredited institution where it was completed. Applicants must provide documentation of the home institution’s STEM designation. The prior graduate degree itself does not need to have been a STEM MBA. 

STEM designation does not by itself establish eligibility or applicability. The coursework must also satisfy the other RCB transfer-credit requirements and fit an available MBA elective. External transfer credit cannot replace the required MBA Core or Concentration. 

First, confirm that your coursework appears to meet the basic eligibility requirements above. 

Then do an initial course comparison. 

MBA applicants: Review the MBA Concentration webpages and the Rowan University Academic Catalog and identify the RCB graduate business elective course or courses you believe most closely match your prior coursework. 

MS in Organizational Leadership applicants: Review the MSOL curriculum and the Rowan University Academic Catalog and identify the MSOL course requirement you believe most closely matches your prior coursework.

Applicants requesting an advance review should complete this initial comparison before submitting a request. The RCB Graduate Business Programs Team will make the final academic determination regarding eligibility and how approved coursework may apply.

Your recruiting contact can submit a qualifying request to the RCB Graduate Business Programs Team for an advance academic review. RCB can determine whether the coursework appears eligible and how approved coursework would be expected to apply within your intended program.

An advance RCB review does not itself post transfer credit to a Rowan student record. Final transfer-credit approval and processing follow applicable Rowan University procedures.

Be prepared to provide: 

• the institution and graduate business program where the coursework was completed; 
• an unofficial transcript showing the course and grade; 
• the prior course number, title, and credit value; 
• a link to the official catalog course description from the institution where you completed the course; 
• the RCB graduate course or requirement you believe is the closest match, based on your review of the applicable RCB curriculum and Rowan University Academic Catalog; and 
• for a course proposed toward the STEM MBA’s STEM-designated credit total, a link or other documentation from the home institution confirming that the course was STEM-designated. 

Do not submit a syllabus unless requested. The RCB Graduate Business Programs Team may request one if additional information is needed to evaluate course content.

Prior Rowan graduate business coursework is not external transfer credit. 

Applicable Rowan coursework may be reviewed to determine whether it can satisfy requirements in another RCB Graduate Business program or credential. The amount and applicability depend on the programs involved and the requirements of the destination program. 

This includes established RCB structures in which qualifying coursework may apply across graduate certificates, master’s programs, or approved shared-credit pathways. Review the requirements of the destination program before assuming that previously completed Rowan coursework will apply.
