Rowan’s Executives in Residence have demonstrated active entrepreneurial experiences and successful business ventures in a multitude of business fields in order to provide outstanding support and mentorship to our RCB students of all majors. Their guidance aids students in understanding the ever-thriving business world, the exploration of new strategic ideas, and the establishment of a personal brand within their business interactions.

 

How can the EIR Help me?

Guidance and Mentorship. EIRs provide valuable guidance and mentorship to new, current and seasoned entrepreneurs, helping them navigate the challenges of starting and scaling a business.

Neal Asbury

CEO and Founder - The Legacy Companies - LinkedIn

Neal Asbury is chief executive officer and founder of The Legacy Companies (annual revenues: $300 million). The Legacy Companies is a diversified group of businesses either founded by or acquired by Mr. Asbury. Mr. Asbury has been an entrepreneur involved in global business since graduating from RowanNeal Asbury University in 1979. He relocated to Asia in 1980 to represent the interests of several U.S. manufacturers throughout the region. In 1987, he founded Asbury WorldWide, a manufacturer and exporter of food service equipment with distribution facilities around the globe. After selling his group of companies in 1999, Mr. Asbury established Greenfield World Trade, a global trading company selling and servicing American manufactured products in over 100 countries to both the retail and commercial markets. Today, that company has become The Legacy Companies.

As a reflection of his political and business acumen, Mr. Asbury is a sought-after guest on national network television news shows that include FOX, CNN, CNBC, and ABC. His thought and opinion pieces frequently appear on Newsmax, AOL News, and other key online media. He is frequently quoted in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Le Monde, and other well-known print media. Mr. Asbury is a strong advocate of entrepreneurship and free enterprise. 

 

Joseph Bottazzi

President & CEO - Leiters Health

Joseph BottazziJoe Bottazzi is a Global Enterprise VP – Executive Partner in Gartner’s Executive Programs. In this role, He works with CIOs, and their senior leadership teams, providing thought leadership and advisory services helping them achieve their strategic objectives and addressing their most pressing challenges. His primary areas of focus include the digital transformation of businesses coupled with strategic planning. Joe is a versatile executive with quantifiable successes in multiple areas of revenue growth and
transformative technology initiatives. He has 36 years of experience in the IT industry. His background includes business development and growth in the financial services industry through the innovative and
disruptive application of technology as a Chief Communications and Technology Officer. He is an analytical decision-maker adept at C-suite interactions and executive coaching. He is accustomed to driving efficiency through process improvement, IT execution, and organizational development. He has led and had the P&L responsibility, for a 10,000-person IT services organization. Joe has extensive experience working with corporate boards, M&A, and in the private equity space. 

 

Denise Coogan

Manager of Environmental Partnerships - Subaru of America - LinkedIn Denise Coogan

Denise Coogan is the Environmental Partnership Manager for Subaru of America, Inc., and is a recognized leader in zero waste programs. Coogan has worked for over 20 years developing the principles that are at the basis of most zero-waste programs in existence today. Coogan uses her extensive knowledge of manufacturing facilities to build sustainability programs that reduce the collective environmental footprint and, at the same time, balance fiscal responsibility. The zero-landfill program that Coogan spearheaded at Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. has won several awards, including the international Gro Brundtland Sustainia Award for developing a solution that will build a more sustainable future.

Coogan has developed a stellar reputation as one of the most influential and inspiring voices on the lecture circuit, mentoring organizations around the globe to begin or enhance their sustainability programs. Through Coogan’s effort, more than 1,000 companies have reduced the amount of waste they generate, diverting tons of waste from landfills. In her recent work with the National Park Service, Coogan is helping usher in an era of lasting sustainability practices that will change how the National Park units look at their sustainability efforts. 

Coogan holds professional certifications as a Registered Environmental Manager (REM) and a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).  She has an undergraduate degree in biology and a master’s degree in sustainable development and policy from the University of Illinois at Springfield.

 

Joseph Cosgrove

Cosgrove is a seasoned healthcare executive with over 30 years of experience in the industry. He is the former Chairman, President, and CEO of Pentec Health, an industry leader in providing patient-specific medications in dialysis centers and in-home settings. Presently, Mr. Cosgrove is President and Chief Executive Officer of Leiters Health, a leading provider of pharmaceutical outsourcing services. Throughout his career, Cosgrove has demonstrated a commitment to innovation and excellence in healthcare and a passion for giving back to the next generation.

 

Joe Devine

Joe Devine is a seasoned CEO with over 35 years of experience in business leadership. Joe is the inaugural Chair of the MBA Advisory Council, and Co-creator and Co-host of the Simply Dynamic Podcast, which is produced by the Rohrer College of Business and the Rowan Department of Radio, Film & Television.

Joe is the former CEO & President of the Kennedy Health System in South Jersey, which merged with Jefferson Health System with $500M being dedicated to South Jersey. He then served as Executive Vice President for Jefferson Health and President of Jefferson New Jersey. During his tenure as a CEO, Kennedy Health (Jefferson New Jersey) was recognized as a Top Workplace for five consecutive years, received multiple national and regional awards for quality, and significantly increased market share, access to care, and revenue.  

He has been recognized numerous times for his authentic leadership and community outreach. He has also served on several boards, including being the former Chair of the New Jersey Hospital Association, former Chair of the Chamber of Commerce of Southern New Jersey, and as a Commissioner of the South Jersey Transportation Authority. Joe is frequently engaged to speak on leadership, strategy, workplace culture, and community responsibility for business. He holds an MBA from St. Joseph’s University and a BS in Accounting & Organizational Theory from LaSalle. 

 

Paul Litwack

Paul LitwackPaul Litwack, Consultant and Advisor for DTA Partners, is a business builder with 20+ years of experience as CEO of several middle-market corporations and has over 30 years of experience helping private equity or family-owned corporations shift trajectories and increase shareholder value. Paul’s strengths are strategic planning, business development in new product introductions, acquisitions, and M&A, as well as marketing and sales management, financial planning, and team building. His business-to-business industrial products experience is complemented by his consumer packaged goods- and brand-building expertise acquired at General Mills, RJR Nabisco, and Kraft Foods.  

Paul has served as a long-term board director of middle market companies and trustee/advisor for several nonprofits, such as Fabricated Panels and Signage for Commercial Construction Chairperson (2012–Present); Pharmacy and Medical Supplies for Long-Term Care and Prison Facilities Chairperson (2013–Present); Investment Advisor to the Rowan Innovation Venture Fund  (2016–Present); Trustee of Kellman Brown Academy (2020–Present); Materials Testing and Calibration for High-Reliability Applications Chairperson (2007–21), and Distributor of HVAC and Plumbing Supplies Chairperson (2014–19). Paul earned an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and a BS from Brown University

 

Jerry Maginnis

Accounting Executive in Residence - Rowan University

Mr. Maginnis serves as an Independent Director and the Chair of the Audit Committee for the Cohen & Steers Mutual Fund Complex. He is also a board member and Chairs the Audit Committee of inTEST
Corporation (INTT; NYSE), a publicly traded technology company.
Jerry also serves as the Senior Advisor, Strategy and Growth to the CEO and leadership team of Centri maginnis_jerryConsulting LLC, a professional services firm. The Firm specializes in providing financial reporting, internal controls, valuation, technical accounting research, and CFO advisory services to clients in a variety of industries.

As an Executive in Residence at Rowan University, he supports the accounting program and coaches and mentors students as they transition from academia to the business world. Jerry spent 36 years with KPMG where he was an audit partner serving a variety of clients and specializing in emerging growth companies. He led KPMG’s audit practice in Pennsylvania for five years and served as the Firm’s Philadelphia Office Managing Partner for the last eight years of his career.

Jerry previously served as the President of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), a member of the Council of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), a member of the Board and Treasurer of the AICPA Foundation, and the Chairman of the PICPA Foundation. He is also a past chair of the Rowan University Accounting Advisory Board. He served as a board member of Gwynedd-Mercy University, Saint Joseph’s Preparatory School, the Union League of Philadelphia, and The Faith in the Future Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on preserving Catholic education at the secondary level in the Philadelphia region.

 

Mike Maggio

mike-maggio.jpegMike Maggio has been in the business products industry for over 40 years. He has been a part of companies in all segments of our channel, independent dealer, manufacturer, and wholesale distributor, including working at S.P. Richards for 14 years.

Mike began with SPR in 1990 as an Operations Manager for our Philadelphia DC. Was promoted to GM and later became VP of Sales, responsible for National Accounts. Mike’s final role at SPR before leaving to run the largest regional wholesale distributor in our channel was Division Vice President for the Northeast.

Most recently, Mike was Chief Executive Officer of Independent Suppliers Group (ISG), the largest reseller-owned buying cooperative in the business products industry. Mike is now the CEO of SPR and we are excited to have his leadership and SPR's future success!
