Biography
Yang Yang received a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Ivey Business School at Western University in Canada. Before joining Rowan University, she completed post-doctoral study at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Yang’s primary research interests include gender and diversity in organizations, work-family flexibility, and strategic HRM. Her work has been published in Group and Organization Management, Human Resource Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Vocational Behavior, and other journals, as well as recognized as a recipient of scholarly awards, including the Rosabeth Moss Kanter Award for Excellent in Work-Family Research, the Transnational Faculty Research Paper Award at the Academy of Management (AOM), the Organization Management Journal Best Paper Award, and a Journal of Management Scholarly Impact Award finalist.
In addition to teaching undergraduate- and MBA-level courses, Yang has served in several leadership positions in her field. She is an Associate Editor at Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: An International Journal (2024-26) and Frontiers in Organizational Psychology (2023-26). She is the Secretary of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Division at the Academy of Management (2021-27).
