Biography
Matthew Sarkees, Ph.D. serves as the Dean of the William G. Rohrer College of Business at Rowan University, bringing over 30 years of experience in academia and industry. Prior to joining Rowan in August 2024, Dr. Sarkees was a professor and chair of the Department of Marketing and Business Law at Villanova University’s School of Business. His research focuses on pharmaceutical and healthcare marketing in the context of strategy and public policy.
Throughout his career, Sarkees has demonstrated leadership by enhancing faculty recruitment, promoting research excellence, and integrating experiential learning. He has also been instrumental in fostering student career opportunities through community outreach and curriculum innovation. Before his academic roles at institutions such as West Virginia University and St. Joseph’s University, Sarkees held positions in management and marketing with companies like Ernst & Young and IBM. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) with a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh, an MBA from Villanova, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Seton Hall University.
