Biography
Dr. Pontes joined the marketing faculty at Rowan in 2000 to teach courses in the areas of marketing channels, principles of marketing, services marketing, retailing, and research methods. His primary research interests are to use large nationally representative data sets, such as the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) and the National Survey of Children’s Health, to track progress in the US related to the UN sustainability goal THREE. His secondary research interest is the analyses of data used by orthopedic surgery residents and faculty for their publications. Dr Pontes’ methodological interests are in the analyses of data collected from complex survey designs and the use of R for data analyses and data visualization. Dr. Pontes holds a BS (Chemistry) from the University of Bombay, an MS (Chemistry) from the Indian Institute of Technology, a Ph.D. (Chemistry) from UC San Diego, and a PhD (Marketing) from the University of Florida.
