Why an MBA Concentration in Management Information Systems?

The MBA Concentration in Management Information Systems (MIS) prepares students for employment in a world of rapidly changing technology by teaching them to develop business solutions through the use of information systems and technology resources. This Concentration also enhances the skill set of current managers in technologies, systems, or information security roles.

This Concentration is an ideal choice for analytical problem-solvers who are effective communicators interested in project management, daily operations, computer information systems design and implementation, as well as utilizing technology to leverage an organization to the maximum benefit for marketability, profitability, productivity, and efficiency.

Students will gain experience:

  • dealing with technological issues, such as systems security, encryption, and e-commerce payment mechanisms;
  • understanding the role humans play in developing technology-based solutions; and
  • learning to manage technology-related projects as well as how to aggregate and disseminate information systems data. 

The need for experts in information systems management is currently skyrocketing in every industry and sector, from retail to health care to air travel and airports to financial services and manufacturing.

  • business intelligence analyst;
