GenFocus Wealth Advisors Invests in Future Financial Planning Professionals

Students in Business Hall

Students pursuing careers in financial planning at Rowan University will have a new source of scholarship support thanks to a $25,000 commitment from GenFocus Wealth Advisors.

The firm has established the GenFocus Wealth Advisors Annual Scholarship Fund within the Rowan University School of Financial Planning, providing a $5,000 annual scholarship to a student pursuing a major or minor in financial planning. Recipients must demonstrate financial need and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, with preference given to members of the Rohrer College of Business Women in Business Club.

The gift represents one of the School of Financial Planning’s early industry partnerships and supports its mission to develop the next generation of talented, ethical financial planning professionals. Beyond providing financial assistance, partnerships like this help strengthen connections between Rowan students and leaders in the financial services industry.

“We are deeply grateful to Brian, George, and the entire GenFocus Wealth Advisors team for their generous investment in our students,” said Dr. Matthew Sarkees, dean of the William G. Rohrer College of Business. “Scholarships like this remove financial barriers while creating meaningful connections between our students and industry leaders. Their partnership demonstrates a shared commitment to developing the next generation of financial planning professionals.”

GenFocus Managing Partners Brian Altmann and George Pittaoulis said the firm was drawn to Rowan’s vision for the School and the opportunity to support students as they prepare to enter the profession.

“This is an exciting moment for the profession,” Pittaoulis said. “The School of Financial Planning is creating something truly special, and we’re thrilled to become involved on the ground floor.”

Housed within the Rohrer College of Business, the School of Financial Planning offers an interdisciplinary curriculum spanning financial planning, wealth management, investments, taxation, retirement and estate planning, insurance, and financial technology. Industry partnerships provide students with opportunities for scholarships, mentoring, experiential learning and career pathways.

The GenFocus partnership adds to the growing industry support behind the School as it works to prepare students to meet increasing demand for qualified financial advisors.
