New International Students

Newly Admitted International Students

Welcome to Rowan’s MBA Student Community!

As you prepare to join our program, there are multiple action steps that must be completed to ensure a smooth transition. See below for details.

1. Matriculate

Please log in to your Rowan Global admissions portal where you applied to the program, and sign your matriculation agreement. If you would like to defer your acceptance to the next semester, please request a revised Acceptance Letter from the International Center for the term you plan to enroll in by sending an email to igrad@rowan.edu. Make sure to copy rowanic@rowan.edu. The International Center will revise your I-20 based on the new acceptance letter. Be sure to submit a complete deferment request.  Until you are a fully Matriculated student we can not work on next action steps.

2. Register for Courses

Admission into the MBA program does not guarantee you seats in courses or a schedule.

Courses fill to capacity quickly, so you must work with the Office of Graduate Business Studies as early as possible to build a schedule of classes for your first semester.

Send an email to GraduateBusinessStudies@rowan.edu to confirm you will be joining us for the Fall 2021 semester. An academic advisor will respond to your message and work with you on all action steps to build a schedule and register for your first semester of studies.

3. Plan of Study and Total Course Requirements

Review your Plan of Study (provided in the same email message as your Letter of Admission) to determine which Foundation courses you may be required to complete in addition to the fourteen (14) graduate-level MBA Courses. If you think you might be eligible for additional Foundation course waivers, please see the process for requesting an appeal/re-review in the Graduate Business Programs Foundation Fact Sheet.

4. Review MBA Student Guidance Material

Review the New Student Onboarding Guide to get started with your program.

Review the Graduate Business Student Handbook for details on:

    • Career Resources
    • Campus Resources
    • Frequently Asked Questions on topics such as:
      • Foundation Courses
      • Tuition/Bills
      • Transferring in Graduate Credit
    • Additional Policies/Waivers

5. Orientation Sessions

International MBA students must attend two separate orientation sessions.

Fall 2021

  • The International Center hosts a comprehensive mandatory 2-day orientation on Wednesday, August 25th and Thursday, August 26th.
  • The Rohrer College of Business mandatory MBA Orientation is scheduled in Business Hall on Thursday, August 26th. The session will last one hour. The session will start after the International Center required sessions are complete. Information will be updated on this page when the International Center finalizes the agenda.
  • To register for the Mandatory MBA orientation session, visit the Orientation Survey.

6. Verify with the International Center that all necessary documents and requirements have been completed

Please contact Katelyn Sullivan, International Student Advisor, to discuss topics such as F-1 Visa, CPT/OPT, housing and funding. Katelyn can be reached at sullivankm@rowan.edu or (856)256-4995

7. Begin Making Connections and Building Relationships

We encourage our students to go beyond the classroom to build relationships now that will serve you during your graduate studies - and throughout your career.  You don’t need to wait for classes to start or for the next Networking Event to begin connecting with other MBA, MS Finance, COGS and CAGS students. One action item you might want to consider is to freshen up your LinkedIn profile and then connect with members of RGSAAB (Rohrer Graduate Student and Alumni Advisory Board). RGSAAB members are actively engaged in academics and shared community connections that elevate the student experience and the reputation of Rohrer Graduate Programs.

Defer to a Future Semester

We know that it takes significant effort for you as an international student to prepare to come study in the US!

If you do not have time to prepare to join us for the Fall 2021 semester and would prefer to defer to a Spring 2022 start semester, please notify us immediately at GraduateBusinessStudies@rowan.edu.

We will be happy to change your target start semester and can work with International Admissions to send you updated materials (e.g., a new offer letter and a revised Plan of Study for degree completion).

Again, congratulations and welcome to Rowan!
