A collaboration between the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering and Rowan University’s Rohrer College of Business.
Program Benefits
- Rowan M.S. Engineering students in good standing are guaranteed acceptance into the Rohrer College of Business MBA Program
- The Rohrer College of Business accepts up to 9 graduate elective credits into the MBA Program (leaving only 9 courses / 27 graduate credits to complete the MBA)
- Rohrer College of Business provides Rowan M.S. Engineering students the opportunity to complete their MBA in under a year
MBA/M.S. in Engineering Degree Overview
- Learn to excel in technology enterprise environments by leading execution across projects, programs, functional units, organizations, industries, and markets
- Draw on analytical thinking while also examining issues from strategic business perspectives
- Build a focus on people development, management skills, and leadership to grow from being the technical expert to becoming a leader making business decisions
- Manage, motivate, and lead staff, engineering teams, community members, etc.
- Complement quantitative and problem-solving skills learned in the M.S. Engineering curriculum with strategic business acumen to become a leading innovator positively shaping our world
- Assume leadership positions within for-profit and not-for-profit organizations (e.g. executive positions within chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering companies, software design companies, aerospace engineering companies, governmental organizations, professional societies, etc.)
Candidate Logistics
- Candidates must apply to and be accepted by the Henry M. Rowan School of Engineering M.S. and the Rowan MBA programs.
- Typically, M.S. Engineering students will begin MBA coursework following completion of the M.S. in Engineering program
- Students should plan on completing all Foundation Course (undergraduate) credits prior to beginning the MBA graduate-level work; see the Graduate Business Program Foundation Fact Sheet for options on satisfying these requirements.
- M.S. Engineering/MBA students can complete both degrees in 4 years or less
- The time between a student’s first MBA course and final MBA course may not exceed 6 years.
Streamlined MBA Application Process
- Apply to the MBA using the Rowan Global Application Form
- Waived: application fee, undergraduate transcripts, GRE/GMAT scores, and letters of recommendation.
- Required: Current professional resume, Statement of Professional Objectives
- Once you’ve submitted all required components of your MBA application, please send an email to GraduateBusinessStudies@rowan.edu including your full name, phone number, student ID, and a statement that you would like to be considered for the expedited review process for the MBA/M.S. Engineering Program.
Flexible Schedule and Delivery
- MBA/M.S. Engineering students can choose from course format options including:
- On main campus in Glassboro (Fall and Spring)
- Online (Fall, Spring, and Summer)
- Hybrid: 50% online and 50% on campus in Mount Laurel (Fall, Spring, and Summer)
- Formats and courses offered will vary by year and semester, so students will work with the Office of Graduate Programs in Business to select an optimal schedule based on preferences and availability.
Pre-MBA Foundation Course Requirements*
Students are permitted to transfer all Foundation Course credits. The MBA Program Director will determine, with the assistance of appropriate faculty, foundation course equivalencies. Students must present evidence of having completed undergraduate college courses equivalent to the Rowan courses listed below:
- Foundations of Accounting (Equivalent to Financial & Managerial Accounting)
- Principles of Economics: Global Perspectives (Equivalent to Macroeconomics and Microeconomics)
- Calculus Techniques & Applications (or an equivalent)
- Statistics I (or an equivalent)
- Principles of Marketing
- Operations Management
- Principles of Finance

The Rohrer MBA also required 3 elective courses (9 credits) however, MBA/MSE students are eligible to transfer 9 credits from their M.S. Engineering curriculum into the MBA to satisfy all elective requirements.
