Declaring a Concentration
Pursuing a Concentration within your MBA program at Rowan University’s Rohrer College of Business can provide a competitive advantage in the job market for students who have a clear preference for a specific business discipline. The concentration can help to communicate to prospective employers that advanced course work in a specific area of business has been completed as part of the program of study. Applicants to the Rohrer MBA Program can specify their intended concentration on their application or can decide after admission.
General MBA (No Area of Concentration)
This is the most flexible option as you can choose any three graduate-level business courses that are of interest to you to fulfill your elective requirements.
Concentration Options
MBA students can choose among the following Concentrations:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Management
- Entrepreneurship
- Management Information Systems (MIS)
- Supply Chain and Logistical Systems
In order to satisfy Concentration requirements, students must select electives from the options designated for each Concentration. Refer to the Rohrer College of Business Graduate Concentration website to review Concentration course requirements and options.

To update your MBA Area of Concentration:
- Send an email with your full name, student ID, and preferred area of concentration to GraduateBusinessStudies@rowan.edu. The table above lists the Major/Curriculum Codes. Use these codes to indicate your requested Major/Concentration.
- If you have not already worked with an Academic Advisor to map out sequencing and selection of appropriate courses to achieve the area of concentration, please set up an appointment by sending an email request to GraduateBusinessStudies@rowan.edu. This is an important step as we do not offer every concentration in every delivery format (e.g., online vs. face to face vs. hybrid) and offerings vary by semester and academic year.
- After receiving an email confirmation that your Area of Concentration has been updated, check the Banner system to make sure that your new major code is reflected in your student account.
