Pathways to Entrepreneurship

The School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Rowan University supports high school and community college students, educators, and educational institutions, as they explore teaching and/or learning entrepreneurship.

For Students

High school and community college students at partner institutions can engage with Rowan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem in many ways:

  • Events and programs: We welcome students from any of our partner institutions to participate in our virtual events and workshops. Students interested in attending an event or workshop in person should contact us to explore opportunities. All workshops, events, and programs (in person and virtual) are posted on StartupTree.
  • CEO Club: Rowan's student entrepreneurship club is an official chapter of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization (CEO). Rowan CEO works with high school students in a variety of ways, including providing peer mentorship to facilitating virtual workshops.
  • Take a class: As a pioneer in collaborative education, the Rowan Start initiative offers a variety of dual- and early-enrollment options for non-matricualting high school juniors and seniors. Community college students at partner institutions can also take advantage of our 3+1 program partnerships, many of which incorporate entrepreneurship in their business administration tracks, and all of which grant students access to Rowan's dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Think Like an Entrepreneur summer academy (TLAE): TLAE is an award-winning, two-week, non-residential program for rising high school juniors and seniors. Hosted on Rowan’s campus, this program offers the opportunity to earn college credit while working collaboratively in peer teams to solve some of the world’s biggest challenges. Applications are accepted for the program beginning in April each year.

For Educators

We offer a variety of professional development opportunities for high school and community college educators:

  • Entrepreneurial Masterminds Summit: an annual 2-day, immersive experience for cutting-edge entrepreneurship education. Offered each Fall.
  • Faculty Certificate Program: a 9-month professional development certification program for entrepreneurship educators.
  • Quarterly Workshops: topical, quarterly workshops hosted on-campus and virtually.

For Education Institutions

Rowan University actively partners with high school and community college partners in a variety of ways, raningng from in-kind partnerships to formal, paid program and consulting opportunities. Below is a list of the many ways we've partnered in the past with education institutions, and we welcome ideas for new ways to collaborate:

  • Curricular Partnerships: We have active dual-credit, dual-enrollment, 3+1 program, and articulation arrangements with schools across the nation.
  • Special Programs: More than 70 high schools nationally have had students earn college credit through in our summer Think Like an Entrepreneur academy.
  • Curriculum Development & Consulting: Rowan's entrepreneurship faculty are award-winning entrepreneurship educators, board members of leading entrepreneurship organizations, prolific entrepreneurship scholars, and highly regarded editors of leading entrepreneurship journals.
